Which Telephone System

is right for me?

Digital Telephone Systems

For up to 500 users, The NEC SV8100 is the best option for quality, functionality and reliability, ISDN and VoIP ready, with an incredible feature list including unified messaging, call centre support, total presence monitoring and much more, the NEC SV8100 is the right product at the right price for most businesses.

IP Telephone Systems

The new NEC SL1100 comes equipped with 4 SIP trunk ports. An extremely cost effective small business system whether installed onto analogue, ISDN or VoIP lines. The SL1100 offers a truly cutting edge feature set, but has been designed from the outset to be the most user friendly system on the market today.

Hybrid Telephone Systems

As your business expands, an NEC hybrid telephone system offers excellent value and can be configured with digital or analogue lines and extensions. Designed to beat the competition in the market on price and features, the NEC XN120 gives big company capability to suit any budget.

Analogue Telephone Systems

For smaller UK businesses, an NEC XN120 analogue telephone system provides basic functionality and beyond – more than enough to do business.

DECT Telephone Systems

DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) and IP DECT is perfect for hospitality, retail and healthcare sectors. The NEC range offers genuinely unique options including the M155 messenger device and fully ruggedized I755 handsets.  See the NEC SV8100 page for details.

Choosing a new telephone system?
It’s worth asking the following questions.

Consider the following points:

  • How many telephones (extensions) do you require?
  • How many staff do you employ now and predict to employ within the next 5 years?
  • How many staff are likely to be making calls at any one time?
  • What are the frustrations or limitations of your current system?

You have now identified how many handsets will need to be connected to the system initially, the number of phone lines that are required, the scalability of the system and some desired features.

  • Is your company multi-site?
  • Do you have any homeworkers?
  • Do you regularly call international destinations, where and what volume?

The above answers will help determine if an IP system would be beneficial and also identify potential cost savings.

Now check the current IT infrastructure:

  • What type of cabling is installed?
  • Is there cabling to every desk?

Looking more closely at the telephone system requirements you need to decide what features should be available - so you will need to look at how people throughout the business work.

  • Are staff members mobile around the office or warehouse?
  • Are staff generally away from their desks?
  • Do you have homeworkers, or field based staff?
  • Do staff use a database to access customer & supplier contact details?
  • Does the business run a contact or call centre handling incoming or making outgoing calls?
  • Are contracts agreed during the calls?

The above questions will give an indication about the system capabilities required; Armstrong Bell can then give you advice, guidance and produce a quote tailored to your exact requirements.
