We have put together a few areas to consider when looking to move office. The steps below will help reduce disruption and also highlight some opportunities which an office move will create.
Most important is how existing and new customers can stay in contact during and after the move. There are several ways to achieve business continuity and minimise disruption.
Number Retention
Can you keep your current number? Are you moving to a different area code? Have BT advised you are unable to keep your current number? If it is imperative to your business your number remains the same, don’t worry there are still options available to you.
Call Diversion
If you don't need to keep the same number, to ensure you never miss a call again there are several different options, some much cheaper than others.
08, 03, 05 numbers
This may be the ideal opportunity to pick a “nice” number which will be memorable to customers and also yours to keep regardless of the business location. These numbers can be easily diverted to a landline or mobile of your choice and some number types can actually generate revenue for your business.
Take the opportunity to improve your IT and prepare for the future
Would new technologies, advanced cabling infrastructure, hosted services, or an integrated contact centre improve the service you deliver?
Reduce Costs
An office move also provides an opportunity to review your current providers, contracts and costs. We can review your current bills and calculate cost savings taking into consideration future growth and new technologies. Armstrong Bell can provide all your communication services - one provider, one clear bill.
A few more points to consider...
- Timescales – BT have very defined lead times which can vary depending on several factors (the weather etc). Don’t leave planning your office move to the last minute, standard timescales for analogue line installations are 10 working days, ISDN2/ISDN30 installations are 30 working days and leased lines 60 working days.
- Obtain the full address and postcode of the new location.
- Agree on who will be the site contact and best contact number and ensure access is available to your new premises to avoid any possible missed appointment charges.
Discuss your office move with us and we will advise and guide you through every step to ensure your move is as painless as possible.
Armstrong Bell will do the majority of the work for you and liaise with Openreach to arrange line installations, broadband, call diversion and also look at number retention. Let us help take the stress out of your office move.
