About the client
Wootton Taylor is a Midlands-based accountancy and business consultancy firm which has been operating for almost 30 years. Wootton Taylor was established to support smaller businesses by offering affordable services ranging from tax and accounts preparation through to strategic business consultancy and executive coaching.
The Challenge
By the nature of its business, Wootton Taylor holds large quantities of sensitive client data. While the business has been effective in managing and safeguarding this data to date, the upcoming changes in data protection regulations, GDPR, there is an increased emphasis on data encryption and security.
An additional challenge for Wootton Taylor was the amount of time one of their partners was spending on managing IT-related matters in the business. Following an internal assessment, it transpired that the partner was spending around 7 hours per month dealing with such issues; time which the partner could not spend with clients.
Finally, certain remote-working tools that Wootton Taylor had been using whilst at clients’ offices were not reliable or professional enough and were impacting on the company’s service delivery.

The Solution
